Weaving technology in China has a history of thousands of years

Posted on 02/01/2025

Weaving in China has a history of more than 5,000 years. This technology has developed extensively and has had a significant influence on Chinese culture. In particular, silk production played a crucial role in the country’s economy and trade.

Among the ethnic minorities in China, the Zhuang people have a long history of textile weaving. Evidence of their settlements has been found dating back to prehistoric times. During the Song Dynasty, the name “Guangxi” appeared for the first time.

China’s textile weaving technology has greatly evolved. In 1979, the country successfully produced the first-generation SD9-9 rubber belt, ending its reliance on imports.

Today, textile weaving in China remains important in both the garment industry and traditional arts.
